Spicy Sausage Cheddar Meatballs

Ground spicy sausage

2 cups




1 Tbsp.

Butter, melted

1 Tbsp.

Baking powder

1/2 tsp.


1/2 tsp.

Garlic powder

1/4 tsp.

Cayenne pepper


Heat the oven to 350°.

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, butter, garlic and cayenne. Set aside.
In a second large bowl, use your hands to mix together the cheese, sausage and eggs until well combined. Add the flour mixture and mix for several minutes to ensure all ingredients are evenly distributed.

Roll into 1 1/2-inch meatballs. Arrange the meatballs on a rimmed baking sheet. Bake for 25 minutes. Serve hot.

Yield: 36 meatballs

Save Time & Make Ahead: You can prep this recipe in advance. Follow through the step of forming the meat mixture into balls, then arrange them on a baking sheet and freeze. Once frozen, store in plastic bags. Cook frozen meatballs as directed, but increase oven time to 35 minutes.

Variation: Use Italian hot sausage and add ½ cup parmesan or romano cheese for Spicy Italian Meatballs.
